P0335: Crankshaft position sensor A circuit

● Stop driving
Driving on can cause serious damage or leave the car stranded.

The computer sees a fault in the crank sensor circuit. The driver may notice a no-start, stalling or a car that cuts out when hot.

Guided check

  1. Does the rev counter stay at zero while cranking?
If yes: No crank signal is reaching the computer. Check the sensor, connector and wiring first.
  2. Is the connector oily, loose or the wiring damaged?
If yes: Repair the wiring or connector, then clear the code.
  3. Is the sensor out of the maker's values when tested?
If yes: Replace the sensor. Check the reluctor ring if the code returns.

These checks are general and are still being reviewed by working mechanics.

Causes vary by car. Test before you order a part.

Likely causes, most common first
